Orphanage Visit

We went to the orphanage. The nannies took Caroline and played with her for a few minutes. I walked up to them and my baby reached out for her Mama! That's all that mattered to me about the visit. Praise God for his miracle-working power. We are blessed beyond belief that He chose us for Caroline.

Angie,
So glad to see that Caroline is doing better each day. I think from your pictures that you are in the CHina Hotel, we were there in Nov. Anyway wanted to let you know we ate lunch a couple of times from the Starbucks and it was very good, the ice is safe too. Also you can order Papa Johns and they deliver to the hotel, ask your guide for the phone #. Also I am sure you know about Shaiman Island, it is only about a 10 minute cab ride about 20RMB. We had the concierge write Lucy's on a card that we handed to the cab driver so we could eat there some. Cow and Bridge on Shaiman Island is also very good. Then we would show our room key to the driver to get us home. I know being in Gunagzhou for the bulk of the trip, makes it seem kind of long, we thought it was anyway. Enjoy the rest of your trip.
In Him,

Yay! So glad it went well. I remember so clearly that feeling of relief when our little Samara reached back to us after being held by the nanny. What a blessing!

Sounds like everyday is getting better and better wtih regards to attachment. Keep us posted.

Your love for Caroline is powerful. And remember, Christ is in you, so you change the atmosphere around her - so, of course she reached for her mommy. Her heart knows!!!

Love you all! Julie, Christopher and Gracie

Your Caroline is just beautiful. So glad to hear she did so well at the orphanage. Our first daughter in 2004 reacted much like your Caroline and was extremely grief stricken when we received her and the first days afterwards. She gradually bonded with us in China and once home like glue. That grieving is such a blessing in disguise ! Just means someone loved her and she knew it.

Only a few more days before you are back in IN! So glad to see the orphanage trip went well. We hope the rest of the trip goes smoothly too. Tell Sarah Grace that her friends say hi again!
